I have been trying to understand what exactly is dew point temperature (DPT), but not getting the picture of it. Can anyone explain the DPT practically? I have read its definitions and it seems that I understand a bit, but still not clear. How can we use the DPT to study whether condensation will occur in a place or an air-conditioned area?

DPT is the saturation temperature at which a vapor start condensing into liquid at a particular pressure due to heat rejection & evaporate with heat addition. Like for water it is 100 degree C at atm pressure of 101.396 K Pa. or 1 bar. It is used in psychrometry, where DPT is temperature to which air must be ccoled at constant pressure to cause condensation of water vapor.
For conditions on the earth, only one gas can be condensed by cooling, water vapor. The temperature at which such condensation would occur is called the DEW POINT TEMPERATURE. The difference between the dew point temperature and the actual temperature is related to RELATIVE HUMIDITY.

If we reverse the question, how does the water interfere with the air?
The answer is that; there are spaces between the air molecules that allow water molecules to interfere. So, when the air temperature reaches the dew point temperature of the water vapor, the air particles converge very much to expel the water droplets, which means condenses of water vapor.
Atmospheric air contains a certain amount of water vapour. This amount of water vapour depends on the ambient conditions. In humid climates it increases which means the relative humidity is high. If you cool the air using an air conditioner you will reach a temperature where the water vapour will condense on the cooling coil of your air conditioner and will come out as liquid water called the condensate. The temperature at which the water vapour in the air condenses is called the dew point.
