Chronoamperometry is usually used to test the electrocatalytic behaviour of an electrode material and its applicability as sensor. It is also used to study the effects of the applied potentials on the catalytic

responses of the electrode.

Stability of a catalyst can be studied by using cyclic voltammetry method by measuring the decrease in the voltammetric peak current during potential cycling, or by comparing its initial response with its response after storage in laboratory atmosphere during many days.

When you look at papers, most of them give the stability in terms of the curve and final value at the end of measurement.

I further want to know the probable factors that keep the current density decreasing or stable during the CA measurements

The current density decreasing means that the process obeys to the Cottrell equation.

A stable current density suggests that a stationary state is reached and the process is controlled by diffusion.

The probably factors that influence the current-time transient are: electrolyte concentration, pH value, conductivity of the catalyst, temperature.
