I innovation about water i want to point out was prediction of drought & flood and related damages to the environment using software.
For the record, I could spend the rest of my life addressing an issue of this breadth! The water sector in general has become very innovative with respect to applying advanced technology in treatment and operations in general. With respect to what we call "Water Resource Management" or in some instances "Resource Stewardship." the water industry has begun to advance processes with respect to the "sustainability of the resource." In this case, efforts to address sustainability have taken on a certain urgency due to the very identifiable impacts of climate change. As stewardship and sustainability take a stronger grasp in the market and on the industry in general, it is my opinion that innovation in both application of existing technologies and in the development new technologies targeted specifically to the water industry from resource management to municipal operations to bottled water will accelerate dramatically. We are seeing this in Southern California, India, Europe and China. We are beginning to breach the barriers of crisis in supplying drinking water specifically to a thirsty world. I would suggest that you go on-line and look up the Yale University Symposium on Water Challenges of the 21st Century. It was a two day symposium held at Yale with many experts from across the spectrum of water users. I am sorry, I can't put my hands on the citation on line.
