As researchers specialize is very important, to have a PhD is to reach a high level as a researcher, but what is your opinion about post-doctorate, it is necessary, not all countries offer post-doctorate, so you have to make a big effort to to achieve one, what is your opinion, thanks for your recommendations
It is better to do post-doctorate for enhance our confidence, knowledge and subject authenticity over the subject specialization. Directly it may not help in career promotion but gives self- estimation and satisfaction. Gains respect in academic circles. In our country fellowships will be sanctioned by Government. Also some Universities awards D.Lift, D.Sc, LL.D like that. Knowledge gives power.
Those whose love for research does not completely satisfied during Phd, opted Post Doc further.
It’s also to expand their research under different experts.
I think it is not necessary the Post-doctorate and PhD degree is enough for researcher to develop any scientific field (university,industrial, and any work).
In Croata it is a part of academic career development since past dew years. When I made my Ph.D. it did not exist. I see it as a part of life long learning that academic staff is by definition obliged to do
Post Doc helps in continuing research work post Ph D. Since normally Post Doc is carried out in a University different than where Ph D was completed and also under different Professor , it provides a different view point for research work.
My impression is that a post-doc allows a researcher to further establish him/herself in the research area. For some disciplines, it gives time for accepted manuscripts to be published while also producing more. Many universities claim to require post-doc experience for a job but the reality is more like they require qualifications equivalent to those of a post-doc. If someone is doing very strong work, whether or not they do a post-doc probably doesn't matter.
It becomes very important for a PhD to pursue a PDF because it adds to his/her research experience and resume.
