Thinking statistically, milk and blood are two attributes of this sample of Heifers and some association among traits is inevitable. Heifer is a biological system sustai ed by feed energy. First. Lactation cows are also growinng physically . growth rates may be different and milk production will be diffeent too. Correlations can be spurious or just because the variables in hand may be surrogate for other more appropriate variables. Look at Rumen models as to how feed nutrients are utilised and think about biological mechanisms ...
