How i dissolve herbs and chemical powder for antibacterial testing (MIC) ?

I have 6 herbs i want to mix all, in these 6 herbs, four are water soluble but two are not soluble in Water, DMSO and ethanol. How i dissolve it for MIC and then how i will made mixture. when i am dissolving these powders in water some of them have color,,,, will they effect MIC results.

Your compounds must be either hydrophylic (and water soluble) or hydrophobic (in which case they must dissolve in ethanol or DMSO). If they do not dissolve in either, they must be large molecules, and I would not bother testing them.
