I am using Landsat 8 surface reflectance product, in the guide related to that product:
"https://landsat.usgs.gov/sites/default/files/documents/lasrc_product_guide.pdf" table 7-1 , page 12, the valid range L8 SR ( b1-b7) between (0-10000) and then we rescale the bands by multiple each band by ( 0.0001). i followed this guide In my image, i removed all values less than 0 or greater than 10000, then i multiplied all bands by 0.0001. This is my result. kindly in need to knew how i validate my results weather it wrong it correct as the scene look different.
Hi, Dr. Mona Allam. I think that you did it correctly. The contrast difference between the two images you show here must be because you have eliminated the saturation effect in the northern fringe of your scene. I would only say to you that if the saturated area is related to clouds, maybe you could have lost reflectance information of the clouds and then you should not limitate the reflectance values to 10,000. But if you are not going to use this information, than I would say it is ok as it is.
