Hello everyone,
which ways could I use for obtaining data about colour of every pixel in image which has .jpg or .png formats? In the end I want to get .txt file with numerical values of colours in the RGB palette to download it to FPGA by UART. If you know better methods to do this, I will be glad to learn them.

If you are using VHDL then you need to transform the image into text file and then binary. please, if you are using Verilog then use the package textio package. You might use C or matlab code to transfer the image into binary format then insert its location in the VerIilog code I attached a web site reading binary file using VHDL. also, you need to use VHDL transmitter/ receiver file to transfer your data to FPGA. I have my own but I believe it is available as package.
in matlab
[x,map]= imread(‘location of your image ‘, ‘jpg’);
imwrite(x, ‘new file name’, ‘bmp’);

Hi, didn´t you try reading the images with a Python script? You can access to the three matrixes of the RGB image.

-I'm using VHDL.
-Main point in this question is transforming of the image file to text file on the computer.
-Tools like https://convertio.co/jpg-rgb/ don't work in my case due to too big time of processing.

please try Matlab image processing , you get everything using Matlab software.
Dmitriy Kornilov I made a simple but working python 3 script that opens an RGB image and automatically returns 3 txt files, each one containing the corresponding R, G or B matrix from the original image (they appear on the script working directory).
It is maybe redundant but I made it the more transparent I could.

Use opencv library(with c++, java or python) ...
It will help you extract the pixels values, then you will send it to a text file.
