How i can calculate the apparent resistivity values from magnetotelluric data? Secondly, is the unit of CSAMT and AMT data is "millivolts"? Is there any software to find the apparent resistivity values from that obtained values in "millivolts" to "ohm-meters"?
I have been also asking the same question. However, after the experience with the Audio Magnetotelluric (AMT) equipment in groundwater exploration for over 100 production wells, I realise there's absolutely no reason to calculate apparent resistivity.
Some of modern Audio Magnetotelluric equipment evaluates/measures the electric potential difference in mV. Electric potential difference (EPD) is directly proportional to resistivity. Traditionally we're accustomed to apparent resistivity, but technology has incredibly improved to simplify things.
I would suggest we focus on developing a baseline understanding of the application of the EPD-AMT approach in different hydrogeological settings.
