Is it right to suppose that growing inbred cultivars of rice over years and without tight control on the seed fields allows weedy rice genotypes to evolve -by out-crossing and/or mutation- and be carried over with the crop seeds to next years, until they fully acquire the necessary requirements of weed behaviour, such as dormancy, logging tolerance, competition for resources with crop rice, seed shattering ...etc?
