I have seen this new sensor (https://www.campbellsci.com/soilvue10) and wondered how it performed outside ad videos. I am especially interested in ease of installation in coarser soils. Has anyone gained experience here?
Not a lot of literature on these yet. I did a search and only came up with your questions on RG! I have installed a few of these now - in gravelly soils. We snapped the first probe in two. And the second, too. But CSI replaced them. It's a challenge to get a 1m hole that is straight. And contact with the soils was also difficult. I would like to see more response to wetting events - the site below is all recorded with one SoilVUE10.
