Thanks a lot for your encouraging response. In Japan, a new act for mentally disordered offender started 6 years ago. We investigated the impact of this act for some years. As you say, some practitioners feel empowered and motivated. However the subjects of the act are very few number of total patients. Then majority of psychiatrists will not change their mind, I guess.
I think your comment is correct. Indeed, we performed a questionnaire survey for clinical psychiatrists about subjective change in the circumstance around this field. Some interesting points are found. For example, more psychiatrists emphasized the importance of multi-disciplinary team (MDT). We suspect that the change results from the mental health reform and surrounding activities, since the MDT was introduced to clinical setting in Japan first through the new legislation. Thank you.
