I'm working on climate change adaptation studies on the highlands of the bolivian altiplano. My research problem is the following: determine the characteristics of the better vegetable association of forest species, for having the better hydrological interchange of water between forest and atmosphere via transpiration.
My aim is to compare transpiration rates of different species on a demonstration plot located at 4300 m. And I'm searching good technology with good price for that. Then, the 9900 Portable Photosynthesis System Gas - System Ddg Data Design could be useful for this purposes? Thank you for your help.

Dear Hugo, if your problem is to determinate transpiration rates related to the atmosphere interchange, this kind of instrument is not suitable for this task. I recommend better to measure sap flow that there are many gauges in market for that if it is possible. At last with gs data you can calculate transpiration using Penman-Monteith model. Cheers.
