I'm finding it rather slow turning up literature on the preferences of patients and the general public for naming these services. Different services can refer to themselves as Geriatic Psychiatry, Psychiatry of Old Age, of Older Age, Mental Health in Late Life and so on.
I've a few papers on the subject, but I wondered if anyone out there was actually researching or writing up the topic right now. It would be good to hear what you're finding.
I note that the only one of these terms that's am official RG tag is Geriatric Psychiatry. Ugh.

To age is a narcissistic blow to the ego if you have one, and if you valued something about yourself that was youthful. We live in a world that treats ageing as a disease, and a visit to any health and beauty section in a shop will reveal an industry devoted to 'anti-ageing' products.
I liked working with Africans a lot. Mze (older man) is a term of respect in kiswahili.
But to return to our muttons, what do patients want the services to be called? Anyone working on the problem currently please speak up!

The numbers appear whenever I add an answer. I have no idea what they represent, other than some kind of malfunction. But I rather like them.
