Sensor is calibrated with radiometric accuracy with 8-bits and same has been improved with 10 bits . My question does how this increase in bits help us to get good quality image? What exactly it means when increasing?
Let me answer with an example; a one-channel image with radiometric resolution of 2-bits shall be a black-and-white image; 3 bits can represent 2^3 = 8 levels will result in a grey-scale image; and so on. The more bits an image has, the more levels it can contain.
