Hi!
How are phages detected/identified in mixed samples such as soil, water, or even tissues?
Thank you, Kenneth. Do you by any chance have any molecular tricks up your sleeve for the same purpose?
If you are looking more generally for phages and have many environmental samples, DNA extraction and sequencing makes more sense.
DNA extraction and sequencing does identify the phages and it can cope with many phages in one sample. Additionally one can process many samples per day.
How long does it take to prepare a sample by negative staining and identify 100 phages by TEM?
Thank you, Henrik. All the best!
While phage electron micrographs have blown me away more than once, Henrik's approach is better suited for this particular project at hand.
Thank you again to both of you, and all the best!
