In the technical specifications for the Magpix instrument, it is noted that the minimum number of Phycoerythrin molecules it can detect per bead is about 700. I am interested in knowing how they made this calculation. After looking at many articles about ccd design and its applications to immunology, i havent been able to find the method with which one determines this limit.
