Loneliness is the #1 problem of college campuses today. This gen of college students is having less sex than any in modern (perhaps all of.....we just don't have the data) western history.....and not because of morality...and their ability to engage interpersonally NOT helped by laws which make foreplay illegal (without a series of 5 or 10 verbal contracts which kind of kill the moment) for the first generations of people in human history (some good things have bad consequences.....that's what PhDs are supposed to find before they recommend policy) They are interpersonally inept: spending their lives with things (phones, gaming, etc) rather than physically being with other human beings, and engaging interpersonally on a deep level. Texting has destroyed a lot of lives. We constantly look for ANOTHER digital solution to every problem. What these young people NEED more than anything else is FAR LESS time spent on digital devices and far more spent physically in the presence of other young people and talking. When you create something new for students: think about their mental health: think about how your project encourages interpersonal human interaction. A 176th digital platform is probably not what they need: if you are adding such a thibng, consider making it a PART of a digital platform they already access. They DON'T NEED ANOTHER ONE.
