I have found papers, where people have illustrated with structures, how GelMA hydrogels are forming. But, I could not found any paper that describes the underneath chemistry of gelatin cryogel formation under the influence of APS and TEMED.
Hello, It will work exactly in the same way as for normal monomeric mixture. If it does not form a cryogel then concentration of acrylic groups in GelMA is too low or you did not use enough concentration, or was not degassed. Theoretically it should form a gel without additional cross-linking agent due to electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonding and increase of molecular weight of polymer. Please see, ratio of APS and TEMED 1)Novel macroporous amphoteric gels: Preparation and characterization.
