I deposited MoS2 thin films, and found that the PL spectra was centered around 605 nm, which corresponds to bandgap of 2.049 (close to that of monolayer). However, the Raman spectra of films consisted of broad peaks with a separation > 27 cm-1. I am assuming the Raman spectra maybe due to synthesis of Mo-rich defects in MoS2 thin films.
But i am unable to understand and interpret the PL behavior of films. Any leads will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The energy Levels in the vicinity of the band gap generally correspond to the peaks in the PL spectra. It can be either from free excitonic contribution or various defect energy levels present in the material.
Please see the attached reference paper (Figure 3) in which you will get the discussion about the peak at around 605 nm, whatever you observed in your data.
