We specialize in a styrene-butadiene emulsion polymerization, we run conversion to 60% and we recover the unconverted (1,3- butadiene) at a purity of average of 73% and major impurity is (cis-2 butene).
My question is how is this hydrogenation taking place, where is the source?

we only analyze recovered styerene and Butadiene# IN styrene stream we get 4-vinylcyclohexene(from Butadiene dimers) and in Butadiene stream we get cis-2 butenes
i bielive if there are any naphthalene derivative,(s) they will be in the latex, since the boiling point is too high(exceeds recovery tepmertures of STYRENE AND BD)
and we hvnt analyze the side products from our latex#
lets say we do get naphthalene derivatives, how would you link the Butadiene,cis-2 butenes conversion and naphthalene derivative(s)

our reactors are stainless still, only metal presence is (Fe)iron,since we use redox initiation system
but we run at a very low temperatures,9° C and pressure of 271kpa
