How do you selectively protect posphinic acid in presence of carboxylic acid?

I have a phosphinic acid on the same structure that I also have carboxylic acid how should I should I selectively protect the Phosphinic acid so I can make an acid chloride with carboxylic acid and moving forward my synthetic route? Does Oxalyl chloride has any selectivity between these acids on the same structure?
