I'm in the process of completing a case series in which I used CAPE (Community Assessment of Psychic Experiences). I'm confused about the scoring. The papers reporting data collected with CAPE inform that scores range from 42 to 168 in both frequency and distress dimensions. However, instructions to complete CAPE are as follows: 'If you answer NEVER in column A (frequency of the experience) please move on to the next question' (i.e. ignore column B- distress caused by the experience). Doesn't this mean that potentially the distress dimension score could range from 0 to 168? And that it could definitely be below 42. I'm not sure how to present these data.

Many thanks for your help,

Jada
