How do you prepare a micro-capsule or hydro-gel of bacteria? I want to adsorb bacteria on some carrier material (either silica gel or any other inert material) so that I can use it for treating solid industrial waste instead of directly adding bacteria to it.
Please suggest to me some procedure and literature. Thanks.
Agree. Na-Alginate beads are probably easiest to make and use. I have used it in the past to immobilize fungal strain as biopesticide beads.
Dear all,
I need informatioan guys. How about Alginate heat-resistant when it pass the extruder (about 110 Celcius degree)? I want to try encapsulate my bacteria with Alginate, then i would let it pass the extruder. I hope Alginate can covering my bacteria from heat.

Cacium Alginate wont be stable at 110 degree. You have to encapsulate in/or cellulose membrane (better to prepare chocolate wrapper like sturcture). Even bioplastic bead option is good.
