An English teacher's ways of motivating students in Dangerous Minds
and Dead Poets Society
"The theoretical framework of this study explores teacher-affected student motivation in general, the definition and types of motivation and most specifically practical ways a teacher can influence student motivation. As the purpose of this thesis is to study the ways of motivation English teachers use in two selected films, in order to see if they can be used as resources or tools for real-life teachers, the theoretical framework of this thesis explores similar resources in published studies and literature."

Encouraging them to think positively and think critically, learn from real life experiences, stay optimistic, what ever the life circumstances are; practice philanthropy with ingredients of sharing, and caring.
Motivation depends on arranging suitable and comfortable situations for students in order to achieve the required goals of teaching. These situations either, social, economic, healthy, environmental, political, feeling in equality and building trust in self, all these works together to give us the positive results for a successful motivation.

i suggest them to think about source of all things and don't restrict themselves.
Always think positive and never think negative, then achievement of your goal will be easier.
Trying to involve in industrial problem solving activities, arrange heckathon on real technical puzzles and motivate to find solutions of real life problems.
I would /still - say you should get 100/100 as a score , nothing less !!!!
I want young students to work towards maximizing their score since it reflects their ability to work and be persistent ...
Motivation so to say is a way of our life .Teacher are playing an important part for the development of student as they know the pulse of the student in a very right manner this may certainly help the teacher to motivate the student in a right direction for his future growth & successful career .
It is in this line that sometime I have my publication under the captioned '' Motivation Career Line '' which I submit herewith for your perusal with a request to offer your valuable opinion

Usually, I ask a question and put some prizes (marks)for the answer depending on question. I think questions, reports and small project can induce them to be motivated and creative.
The teacher can play a pivotal role in encouraging and motivating his students. Despite the difficulty of the task, the reality of the case says that every learner needs us to invent his own method to create a kind of motivation to learn.
Competition in the classroom can be positive if it is used in an educational way that serves the pre-set goals. In some cases, students can be motivated to make greater effort and excel by, for example, educational applications or traditional group games.
Providing simple rewards is one of the most important ways to motivate students. You do not need a huge budget, a beautiful pencil or a small chocolate box may do the trick. Praise words may be more effective at times. What is important is that the child or adolescent is proud to receive a reward after completing a task and encouraging others to limit their level
Be present as often as possible in the lab and have your office always open for them. Talk to them as often as possible about their project or problems, discuss with them about new published work. Try to promote collaboration between students, postdocs and the staff, avoid at all price competition between them. Give them the opportunity to attend meetings and to present their own results.
By advising them, life is made for your to create whatever you can
Creativity and ambitious will be occur when they (students) feel that you are the close relative friends for them.
Best wishes,

I have two notes here:
1- It is positive to use the principle of rewards, but is it possible to use the punishment principle as positive method beside that?
2- Do think creativity and ambitious are related to genetic factors?
By making them understand the competiveness and opportunities, we can motivate the students to set the target for acheiving a specific goal in life.

Showing them only the best, the best of yourselves, the best of your love and interests, why you're doing such an ungrateful job.
Help students to find the field for which he is born. It is the best motivation to behave as friends with students. Try to understand his difficulties.
Just by giving reference, experience and interpretation of related real project of their access
With constant encouragement and confidence in them and the development of their internal capabilities.
Many students expect their teachers to challenge and motivate them, so educational researchers have begun to identify aspects of teaching that promote and encourage self-motivation for students.
Dear Sandra Brawer,
Motivating students to undertake ambitious ventures and to be creative in the work carried out at the university can be implemented, for example, by encouraging individual or team research in the field of issues of interest to students with the opportunity to publish the results of research carried out in a scientific journal published by the University.
Best wishes
Dear Prof @Anastas Ivanov Ivanov ,
Your contribution describes the situation in my country exactly! It seems that everyone in the variant countries lives under the same economic and social conditions. The only difference is in circumstances severity. It is about from 50 percent to above in different countries.

There are several ways to encourage students to innovate in the field of their studies, including: interest in the creative student and reward the efficiency, and the use of the policy of the open door to deal, that the teaching is close to the students, focusing on individual differences, including students in making some decisions, and justice among them in general
There are several ways to motivate student : such as group dissuction so they can talk about the topic in small group
Motivation comes from your ability to classify the cognitive level of students and take into account individual differences. And humility in dealing with students.
Give real examples of hard-working scientists & their inventions. This ll motivate students internally.
As a rule, children are quite creative. It is important not to lose it in the learning process. As for ambition, it is connected with knowledge. Many, realizing that they know very little, lose their ambitions. The opposite option - huge ambitions without the support of equivalent knowledge - this is exactly what the elite educational institutions are seeking. Everything should be in balance. Therefore, to develop ambitions unsupported by knowledge is meaningless .
Whatever you teach, it should be linked with some real-life phenomenon, not just theory. Especially find examples that attract the student. Make your lecture interesting and be firm, fair and friendly with them but don't be a friend :-)
This is an interesting question.
I have never been a teacher. Hence my answer is based on my student days experience and my observations/interactions at later stages in my life.
I believe, if the students are given an exposure to the purpose/relevance/applications of the knowledge being imparted to them, this might result in motivation towards learning and making students creative.
Thank you for sharing this interesting question
Wish you all the best in your career
Try to think different use of waste water bottles and encourage them to beak mental block.
Try to motivate and guide them to find ideas for existing products with better configuration and compactness.
Arranging heckathon among students and encourage them to participate.
Depending on my modest knowledge, I think it is difficult to motivate anyone to be creative. May be this can be found only in movies and shows. The real problem is motivating lazy students, who try just to pass the exams and get the certificate, who don't care about speech, homeworks, projects and addition marks, but he try just to get a grad of 50% to pass. He has his plans that don't share with others. Of course, they are little but they exist. Again I think some factors like genetic (Adrenaline and other hormones secretion), previous and ambient conditions. The evidence for that is just a small portion who are creative and motivated at the end of course even best conditions are available.
Nice answers from all above
One my opinion, There are many effective ways to get your students excited about learning example Encourage Students, Get Them Involved, Offer Incentives, Get Creative...etc
Engage the students in ideas presentation, explore the analogies, animate the model of boring theory, design a character to portray the scientific script, etc
To figure out what intrinsic and extrinsic motivation can work out with them.
To start dismentaling any device and do reassembly of it. Also involve them in designing process of any thermal systems.
Cognitive activities have a role in motivation, the use of competition among students, and encouragement and enthusiasm within the classroom environment.
Try to work on the motivation from within themselves and the external one.
Be friendly with them.
Encouragement and motivation them.
Give them a reliable examples .
Try to teach the to create new things.
best wishes Sandra...
Arrange the visit for creative people and creative work around us.
The teacher must play a pivotal role in encouraging and motivating his students despite the difficulty of the task. In fact, every learner needs us to create his own way of creating a kind of motivation to learn. Most teachers experience difficult times in their quest for an enthusiastic and motivated classroom. To science.
Therefore, the successful teacher tries to develop himself and improve the level of his class. Therefore, he will need some ideas in motivating students and encouraging them to love science and learning. These include raising students' awareness of responsibility, identifying the tasks for each student and the student's sense of importance in the classroom. Safety, fear of failure and the consequences of failure may lead to long-term misdeeds. It is therefore advisable to encourage students and faith in their abilities to overcome difficulties and retry at failure with their psychological and social support if necessary
The teacher should be a role model. He should be firm, fair and friendly (not friend).
