My case involves modeling a 2D aerofoil in ANSYS wherein I would like to add suction orifices on the aerofoil surface. For a simple 2D case (without orifices), I use the wall-no slip boundary condition. If I happen to incorporate the suction holes over the surface, what boundary condition would be most suitable?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Vinit - what are the size of the orifices with respect to the chord or foil perimeter? How many of them are you looking to model?

My orifices would be four in number and along the trailing edge of the aerofoil. The chord length of the aerofoil is 1026 mm. Attaching herewith a snapshot as it would be easier to understand.

Hi Vinit - You are going to need quite a few elements to resolve the flow around the orifices, but as you are working in 2D this should be ok, and you only have four. At each orifice line you can either apply a mass-flow, velocity or pressure outlet boundary condition, depending on what you have used as your upstream boundary inlet condition.

Thank you for your response. I do understand that I would have to have very fine mesh near the orifices to resolve the flow and the gradients variation correctly. In my case, I use velocity inlet and pressure outlet as the boundary condition for the far-field and wall for the aerofoil. Would mass-flow BC suit my case?

No - I think the pressure outlet would be better because it won't allow re-circulation across the boundary which a mass-flow might do. On the other hand the pressure bc is a more severe one, which might cause convergence problems. Just give it a go with increasing outer velocity values and see what happens. I'm curious to see your results and almost tempted to give it a quick go myself!

I believe you are aiming at sucking the lowest layer out thats responsible for most of turbulence correct ?? IMO your current BCs with no-slip should stil work, at holes these BC will cease to exist
