How do you like working during summer breaks? Happy to finally get some work done or too tired to work and in need of a vacation? I have a bit of both. Lucky us we're going on a holiday in 1,5 weeks and I hope to get more work done in those weeks than I did the last 1,5 weeks. Because the empirical chapters need to be finished in October! I'm interested in your experiences!
Years ago, I remember going on a country holiday and hoping to progress with a literature review. However, I spent hours walking round the garden of the holiday cottage, with my laptop, trying to find a signal to allow me to access the Internet! It seemed to vary, from day to day, which parts of the garden allowed me to get online.
But apart from this, we had a lovely time.

Thanks for your message, Rosa. Now I'm retired, I don't even write for publication (which I continued to do after I retired) but really enjoy ResearchGate and also keeping updated in the subjects that I used to research / work with.

When it comes to vacation, I like to have it fully. Working in hot summer day is not something I enjoy at all.
Over the hot summer weeks over daytime hours I tend to work much less then normal. I mostly try to endure the weather...
Since I am from Bremen, Northern Germany (Not far from The Hague, NL) the weather tends to cool down over most of the year mostly between Ocotober and April...
