From your college/university‘s point of view, how do you define a student’s success? Happiness in subsequent life, career success, or simply completion of degree?
If the student has learned what they are supposed to learn as a minimum in the various courses and furthermore if the student is able to pursue their post-graduation goals - employment, graduate degree, opening a business, etc., then I would call that student a success. I use the feedback from the student well after they have graduated as a metric in this regard as well as information that the university career placement center maintains.
The success of a student can be defined by those time-tested teachings received, which made her/him survive in the ocean of life. To my own memory, only those lectures were of real value, where the lecturer was able to connect science and life. I was happy to learn from such a teacher in statistics, generally considered a dull subject.
We measure student’s success when after completion of education, the student finds a place of a higher latitude of knowledge and better living due to the education he/she received. Such success happens because society values learned behaviors and capabilities of it in solving problems, since growth of society depends on its capacity in solving problems.
The success is the light shines on the horizon, and the wearing of the spectators, and the flowers breathe their aroma. I think the Will and highly motivated by success and excellence .
The success of student can be evaluated regarding his progressive development both within the school & also from his regular study with t he result of examination although it has been observed that intelligent & clever student have all time mark their progress however I have observed that student who have not mark their progress they have come out with the confidence & challenges by keeping in mind , '' Failure are pillar of success .

I think student success refers to the goals the student him or her self has set him or herself. If his or her goal is achieving high marks, he or she will measure his or her success accordingly. If the student's gaol is knowledge, and they acquire knowledge, he or she will consider that he or she is successful But if ,the student wants to find meaning, this will depend of his or her metaphysical position and in this instance Western education might be considered as not leading to the desired success.
I think, from college/university's stand point a student's success is defined by one formal and two informal things - a student obtained a degree along with good scores; a student's interest in the chosen profession got stronger and more decisive; a student feels oneself well educated and equipped to meet the future professional challenges.
That many students, whether a student or a university student seeks to achieve excellence and success in order to reach the highest degrees of science and in order to achieve this must be committed to some important things, including that he is committed to whether a student or a university student, including focus during the explanation Professor and score points first Powell, stay away from entertainment such as mobile, television and study with friends that cause distraction student. The student's commitment to these things makes him superior, which makes him able to withstand and face difficulties in his scientific and practical future
My students success is when they accomplish their goals in life (graduation , good careers, happiness, satisfaction, prosperous future.........etc) and their dreams come true
Realistic measures could and should be multiple but mostly every thing trickle down to written and viva type scenerios and subjectivity is quite common. Though efforts are underway to develop more structured systems but stillmiles to go

The most successful student that I can imagine is the one who has the courage to understand and describe an axiomatic failure in my reasoning. A student who surpasses the teacher is greater than his teacher. Academia has no rational basis for claiming some method of teaching personal fulfillment or self-actualization - that is a product of a life well lived that cannot be addressed by intellectual means. Thusly, if I teach someone an axiomatic calculus and they are able to use it to find and expose failures in my own reasoning, or their own, and still maintain a human connection beyond intellectualism....
There is no greater pleasure for a teacher than that - that my student would show me mistaken and become my brother. What a privilege.
Open-ended questions posed at the beginning of a unit can engage students in inquiry that directs their pursuit of the entire investigation. Likewise, at unit’s end, teachers can invite reflective thinking by asking pupils a question directly focused on what each one perceived to be essential in the material. Along with a focus on the specific material, the questions asked may spark thinking that resurfaces later in the form of an independent investigation—perhaps even a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation. These types of classroom interactions are respectful of student intelligence and communicate the mindset of success.

Thank you all for covering the issue of success. Perhaps it takes different relative faces. Mostly and naturally, students focus only on the Degree at the beginning, however, they begin to look around as the graduation comes. Teachers will be very happy for graduated to become a successful element in the society applying what they had.
Think success of students today is defined by getting a job. The common basic state standards aim to make students fit - and the task of the Ministry of Education is to prepare students for global competitiveness.

In my own opinion student success should be measured not just in terms of completion of degree but more importantly their success in life, such career success.
The students' success is the achievement of the student's goals, the goals of the teacher, the educational institution and the goals of the whole nation.
His grade, his research skills, and the most important the application of what he had been taught... that's what remains and defines his academic personality.
I think we should to know on which point of view or about what? Student success can be measured by his career success and life hapiness depending himself, but about society, it can be measured by how he participates on society development using his job and his skills.
