I am measuring hydraulic conductivity in vertical flow water columns for my research, my column specification is attached below, it is very challenging at the moment to see the water flow in the 2nd water valves. in fact, there are three valves on the water column which are connected with 3 different types of media in the column (sand, small gravel, and large gravel respectively). what i did in the most of time is i filled the tap-water with the column until it became flooded and then i opened the each valves by measuring elapsed time of its flow through the valve. although i did this experiment with dozen of times, i could hardly see the water droplet through 2nd valve so far i had been unable to measure the exact the hydraulic conductivity.

Is there anyone has experience in this case?
