When we see the simulated phase value from a DEM, it comes out to be around 40,000. What does this high phase value, even in moderate terrain, represent? How do we calculate mathematically the simulated phase values from a given DEM? Does anyone know of any publications to understand this procedure mathematically?
The simulated InSAR phase is usually the total phase that includes the "curved Earth" phase expected for a given baseline. One paper that explains the geometry is:

What tool did you used? The simulated phase value depends of course on the altitude of ambiguity, but i suppose it also depends if you simulate flattened of unflattened interferograms and how is fixed the zero.
