Dear users,

I am dealing with the idea to have a combustion model based on the pdf approach. As I have two types of fuel, I would need two mixture fractions for this approach. Could anybody recommend some literature or publications for this type of approach?

Furthermore I have one additional question. One of the fuels I want to treat with this pdf approach is perfectly mixed with air. My conclusion out of this is, that I could maybe use only one mixture fraction, although I have two fuels, given the fact that I see the homogenous air/fuel mixture of fuel A as one part of the mixture fraction, and the non-premixed fuel B as the other part.

This gives me the definition

mass_A = mass of fuel A

mass_B = mass of air and mass of fuel B

mixture fraction A = mass_A/(mass_A+mass_B)

Can anybody agree or disagree with this assumption?
