I am simulating, the melting of a PCM (Ice). The purpose Is to obtain scalloped surfaces on the surfaces of the melting ice(irregular surfaces). I am using melting/solidification model in anys. I have a rectangular block and defined water as the PCM. I used linear-interpulation to define specific heat and thermal capacities to reflect both the liquid and solid phases. Solidus temperature and liquidus temperature is -0.1 and 1 degree celcius respectively. For the boundary conditions, I maintained 10 degree celcius for the ubber boundary(heating) and -10 degree celcius at the bottom boundary. I used symmetry for both left and right boundaries. At the end of the simulation. I used -10degree celcius as the initial conditions for all the zones. At the end of the simulation, it can be seen that melting occurred but when I zoom in into the mushy zone I can't really visualise the irregular surfaces(scallops). Its just series of lines. Any suggestion is welcome
