Are you interested free space optics, or only in fibre optic solutions?  If fibre-based, is the fibre single mode or multimode?

Are you interested in real world solutions, or is your work purely simulation based?

What range of wavelengths do you wish to select?  Are the centre wavelength and bandwidth fixed?

A grating-based monochromator is worth considering if you need a narrow pass band and the ability to change the wavelength and bandwidth.

A dispersive prism is another option, and may be more appropriate if you need a broader pass band than is typically offered by a monochromator.

Thin film (dielectric) interference filters are readily available, can be designed with a range of centre wavelengths, bandwidths and pass band shapes, and are widely employed for both free space and guided wave applications. 

There is a substantial literature describing array waveguide possibilities, with options to control the resolution and pass band profile.

There are other possibilities - can you explain more fully what you need and why?

At present I am interested in Fiber based Solution Then I would go for free space optics. The fiber I want to use is Single mode fiber.

My word would be completely Simulation  based , but I want to set the component parameters as per the real world application.

The coherent property of a filtered light from a wide band source is not good. I do not think this kind of light can be used in high bit rate fiber communications. It is better use the laser whose the wavelength you need.

Thank you so much Sir for your suggestion, Actually my purpose is not to generate the light with that range (i.e. 410 nm to 900 nm)  but to take out a single wavelength from a light whose wavelength is in the above mentioned range.

This range covers the visible and near Infrared light. You can choose any filter that cover this range, eg. fiber grating.

It seems you need a wide range tunable narrow band pass filter? How about using a Fiber based fixed or tunable wavelength Fabry-Perot filter.

Yes Sir I need a tunable one. Can you please briefly elaborate how to achieve this using Fabry-Perot filter or if it is possible please suggest me some paper/book (Implementation based) regarging this.

I think there are fixed and tunable wavelength fiber Fabry-Perot filters available in the market by Micronoptics. Though their product is for communication applications, that is in the range of 800-1620nm. You may contact them if they can make the same for your needs.
