I am trying to use accelerated chloride corrosion process for reinforced concrete. For this purpose I use stainless steel for the cathode. But if I use the reinforcement as anode, it will change the original characteristics of the rebar. So I would want to use another metal as the anode which is placed adjacent to the rebars in the concrete. So that the chlorides will be attracted towards the anode.
So, for this, what sort of metal is recommended? Is it okay if I use same metal (stainless steel) for both anode and cathode? I would be thankful for your kind answer.

You need to be clearer about what you are trying to achieve - what is the question that you are trying to answer? You are right that anodically polarising the rebar will drive the corrosion process, so that it will not be 'natural'. However, an inert anode close to the rebar will also be un-natural, not least because it will induce stray-current corrosion of the rebar, with the side of the rebar close to the anode becoming a cathode, and the side away from the inert anode becoming an induced anode. As you probably know, common approaches to the acceleration of rebar corrosion are:
If you do want to apply a current to the concrete (presumably with the objective of increasing chloride transport by electromigration), then I would be inclined to pass current through a slab of concrete. This will give a reasonably uniform migration flux that can be quantfiied by measurement of chloride profiles. There will still be a small tendency to stray current corrosion of the rebar, but it will be less than if the anode is mounted close to the rebar. I wouldn't use stainless steel as an anode, as this puts chromate into the solution and creates a disposal problem. Graphite is probably as good as anything.

I would suggest to use Nichorme (NiCr A), Ni-80%, Cr-20%) as wire mesh or solid plate. Nichrome is highly resistant to corrosion, temperature.
cathode is ok using stainless steel. for anode plese use carbon electrode. it will be stable. salut

You can use as anode two connected Mg electrodes around your stainless steel cathode in order to avoid the effect of stray current on the cathode. Good Luck.
