How do i get the the full understanding of Deep Learning for image classification ?

I want to apply deep Learning for the multi spectral image classification. But i am at a very initial level of it how should i go about it to get the deep understanding of Deep Learning.

Also there is an interesting course on coursera "https://www.coursera.org/course/neuralnets", this course starts from the basics of the ANN up to the DNN.
