I am using 4 different frames for my experiment in my thesis. A previous paper utilising a similar instrument used around 500 participants. I tried using G^power but I am not sure what the inputs I should be using. I know I will be performing interval regressions in my thesis.
First of all, it is always necessary to start from the reference population.
After analyzing the population, choose the appropriate sample size and sampling method.
G-power (and other similar software) come later (if they are not superfluous).
Gioacchino de Candia Thank you for your answer. But do you mind elaborating on the reference population? I am studying the loss aversion of people who need to be screened for prostate cancer.
First of all after doing a Google search it's clear that won't help you at all. There are old standbys from my graduate school days. My 2 favs are W G.Cochran, Sampling Techniques 3rd edition and Schaefer et al Elementary Survey Sampling the latest edition that you can find. These are very helpful and easy to understand.
