I ask you a question; do not you design for high voltage, do you?, because for high voltage keep relation with total kvar need to give to electrical network, do not forget the work voltage. Although the low voltage will be similar.

Basically the value of the capacitor depends on the voltage ripple and switching frequecy. there are some other parameters also published in various publications on which the capacitor value may depend on. But largely depends on the ripple and the switching frequency. 10% voltage ripple is according tho standards is allowed. You can find the formulas of calculating the capacitor in various publications. Generally small value gives you more fast response at the cost suceptibility of the prone to the fault. While the large value of the capacitor gives you the robust performance but poor(sluggish) response.
