How do i convert from mg/ml to mg/g in phytochemical analysis?

i used 0.5ml extract in a 1mg/ml conc and the final vol of the whole solution in the assay after addition of other components amounted to 5ml.

mg/ml = Weight to volume.

mg/grams = weight to weight.

To find the relationship and correct for the change in units you must take into account the density of the materials used.
