I prepared microcarticles with drug. Particles collected and lyophilized. From this, i took 10 mg of particles and i dissolved completely and measured the drug concentration by HPLC. I calculated the concentration as 10 mg of microparticles contains the 100 microgram of drug per ml. I used 8 mg of drug and 60 mg of polymer in 2 ml of solvent for the micro particle preparation.
By looking the literature for the encapsulation efficiency (%):= drug from the particle/drug initially addedX100
so 100/8000X100 gives 1.25%
is the calculated encapsulated efficiency correct?
or please help me to do the right calculation
