You can define strut section in section designer, and can draw diagonal strut by using frame element keeping moment releases as pinned. To assign hinge in strut you have to calculate axial strength of strut(C/s area X compressive strength of infill).
First, define the axial hinge: Go to Define>section properties>hinge properties>add new property>user defined>deformation/force control>choose Axial p type for strut>modify hinge property>select user specified force(put the value of axial strength here)>Ok.
After defining you can assign this hinge: assign>frame>hinges>select hinge property>relative distance(0.5 generally for strut)>add hinge>ok. do honge overwrite step before analysis.
How to assign the hinge stress-strain or force-displacment parameters for axial hinge....bcz when i am trying to assign the default axial hinge then it is showing error in assigning hinge...pls help me out.
In ETABS I had used stress-strain curve to define axial hinge in older version. In new version its not happening. Is giving axial force the only way to define axial hinge?
How can I load a new material in sap2000, as a new infills element (braces), without giving me error when I assign the hinge properties?
the procedure I do is : Define-Materials-add new materials-MATERIAL TYPE:"""OTHER""". I think the problem is when I assign """other"""" because if I put some kind of material from library in sap2000 it allows me to assign the hinge to the frame element.
ERROR TYPE:"Error in assigning hinges. Requested calculated properties may not be avaible for material or section type."
I am using Etabs software for masonry infill wall model so after giving the hinge in infill wall , do i have to give the compression limit to the member ? if i have to give the compression limit then how to find compression limit value , what is the procedure or formula
