Hi every body

I designed a turbine in Gambit and meshed in that. Turbine have 6 blades.Due to the circumferential symmetry, only one sixth of the annulus has been computed, imposing periodic boundary conditions in the tangential direction. working fluid is air and this turbine is named Wells turbine.

According to the first link , the computational domain has been restricted in the axial direction to six chord lengths upstream and ten chord lengths downstream of the blade.

Now, I want to use Moving Reference Frame (MRF) method.

Here, I have a question:

How to use MRF? Should I separate a region in this designed model for using MRF?

Turbine is as show in the second and third links.

According to above explanations, should I separate expressed region as shown in the fourth link?

But according to forth link, the casing is very close to tip of blade and It is hard for separating above region. I separated many volumes around the blade for meshing this model. Top and down of tip are separated different volumes as shown the fifth link.

I am grateful that guide me and If it is possible, please place useful links about this case.

Thanks,

Best,

Ali
