So for the project, we conducted a survey through google forms in which we asked them their spending in online shopping pre covid and post covid. The income was asked in intervals that are up to 1000, 1000-3000, 3000-7000, etc.
Can you suggest to me a method to analyze the same?
Pre covid and post covid entails the paired-samples t-test (also called a dependent t-test) which you would compare the means of the two results for their income from the related samples. For instance, comparing the pre covid income and post covid income for a group of participants would require a paired-samples t-test.
You could convert your income to a continuous variable by assigning the midpoint of the interval for each respondent.
Maybe a multi-group analysis (MGA) is useful here. For instance, you can differentiate between the income groups (if you expect strong differences in between these groups). Otherwise you can use the MGA regarding pre pandemic and post pandemic. A combined MGA (differentiation between income AND pre pandemic/post pandemic) may be interesting as well.
