I have a few questions regarding the analysis of 'yelled' and 'yells' within the prosodic structure in Figure 5a from Goad et al. (2003).

I'm curious about why the affix is treated as a single syllable in these forms. Additionally, I'm curious about why the affix attaches in an adjunct manner rather than at the foot of the stem. Is this due to the existence of a violation of the NONREC prosodic structure?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and consider my questions.
