Barry - Similarly, as discussed by Dean Whitehead you can add a book, a book chapter, a conference proceeding, a preprint, a presentation, poster, data and others. I suggest you to spent some time on RG main page as well as sub pages for the better understanding of the functioning of research gate. Follow directions as they appear and simply click on the 'add new' button and follow the prompts.
Simply click on the add recearch and insert the title , doi and name of the journal

If you publish in a journal that is indexed in Google Scholar, then you only need to create a Scholar account in order to have all your publications under your account. For ResearchGate, I think the answers above are sufficient
