Tanzila Nurjahan We use the AC method to determine the dielectric permittivity of the sample (as a function of frequency) by sandwiching the sample between two symmetric electrodes to form a parallel plate capacitor. Using impedance spectroscopy, we can find Cp as a function of frequency. Find the area of electrode A and thickness of the sample t. Then use (Cp*t)/(epsilon_0*A), where epsilon_0 is the permittivity of free space.
Tanzila Nurjahan If your sample is in powder form, make a pellet preferably circular. Then you shall get the thickness and diameter of the pellet. If your sample crosses the area of the electrode, take the contact area as area A.
