Higher the mortality rate reduces food consumption amount. Mean while the production activity slow down due to pandemic COVID -19 . In this situation could we plan supplementary food for a long period for undernutrition cases.
Maintenance of both malnutrition as well as this pandemic situation is quite tough though but not impossible at all.
Proper nutrition and hydration are vital in this time. So as far as malnutrition concerned, People who regularly follow a well-balanced diet tend to be healthier and free from malnutrition with stronger immune systems and lower risk of chronic illnesses and viral diseases. According to WHO, need to eat fresh and moderately cooked vegetables and before consuming need to properly wash those; drink 8–10 cups of water every day; need to consume less salt and sugar as well and foremost avoid the junk and outside food items strictly.
As far supplementary food those are enriched with vitamins, minerals must take to increase immunity. In case of children it should better to get advices from a professional doctor.
Balanced diet which is not possible to get by poor people in country like India where we can only help those people by providing necessary healthy foods, who are roaming around us for food and Govt should provide proper nutrition guidelines and proper help towards this people to eradicate the malnutrition problem.
