In many water resource researches, the lack of ground data is a big problem, we could solve this problem with satellite images, but how can we ensure the value of the water extraction area or the values of the vegetation area, those with different indicators calculated, are correct? or which indices has the best accuracy?

Obviously, the best validation is with ground truth observations during your image data acquisition. However, if you do not have these observations, I send you a paper providing some ideas for water indices validation.
