How could high tech and manufacturer incorporate and adopted in the low tech sanitation systems to be easy for operate and maintained and to be more sustainable?
Various options are possible but it is recommended to source-separate the sewage for most efficient sanitation:
(1) converting toilet sewage (without disinfectants) along with macerated organic waste (kitchen, garden) to methane by (advanced) anaerobic digestion,
(2) removing FOG (fat, oil, grease) from kitchen sewage for subsequent aerobic biological treatment along with
(3) other sewage and digestate from (1).
Proven high tech solutions are available for both anaerobic and aerobic biological treatment.
What i meant by the question is how we can use the high tech manufacturing, process, assembly, products, equipments could be adopted in low tech systems such as constructed wetland, on site or source separation of the solids (feces, toilet paper, etc.) from the liquid. using for example the bag filters or composting tank for separation... So, how we can use these high technologies such as mobile cell to help operation and maintenance or even the design of the low tech sanitation systems keeping in mind the biological, chemical, and physical processes, and the bio-waste characteristics.
I am sorry if I misunderstood that your discussion was about improving low tech sanitation.
Our approach (proven worldwide since 38 years) is to first look on how the issue of poor low tech treatment systems (sanitation in this case) shall be resolved in the most sustainable = ecological + economic way and then look at which processes, equipment, products (hard- and software) can be used to achieve this objective.
It seems that you prefer to start with the second step similar to junior sales people. Wishing you success with your product centered approach!
