In many occasions recruitment panel members are biased on their own Ph.D students, political pressures etc. Some times low quality candidates are selected as they offers huge black money. There is no value of quality research in India. University level educational system is suffering. Not a single University get chance in the Top 300 institutions in the world. Recruitment procedures mentioned by UGC are not monitoring at all.
Hi Nikunja. You might surprised to learn that unfortunately the situation is not different in Turkey. Recruitment is primarily based on favoritism which starts at the very low level. You will see many people with the same surname working at the same place. Even worse is that if you have a higher GPA, you are more likely to be given a lower evaluation score. So, what we teach to students is useless in real life.
This situation is more in India , deserved candidates are not getting recruitment opportunities.
There is a proverb " You reap what you sow ", same thing is happening with indian education system and university level education and research, the ill practices you mention is not a recent phenomenon but is going on from the very outset, the corrupt practices have, over period of time, spread like cancer into every level of our society and system, and continues to grow unchecked, i can tell you from my own experience that the situation is even worse with many of research and developed organization's of national importance and repute .
This however, cannot go forever, a wooden stick can bend as much as it can bend, but then it is going to snap, likewise at one stage the corruption itself will overthrow this decadent and useless system and through the ensuing chaos, a better order will hopefully emerge.
Dear Dr Nikunja Mohan Modak . The corruption in recruitment in general will damage the academic level of the graduate student and this will affect badly the community.
I agree with all of the friends answered here, in this money-minded world we cannot expect the true, honest recruitment of a potential candidate without corruption. At the same time, the Universities are not realizing that if they recruit useless fellows for the sake of money then the reputation of the University will gradually decrease. This is happening robustly in the Karnataka State of India.
In recent decades Universities are unable to get even NAAC accreditation because of their poor academic performance. The people so-called professors in the Universities even don't know how to use computers and how to design an experiment. Those impotent candidates spoil the education and the upcoming students throughout their life. A student can learn for 3 years in the University but the impotent professor lives until his retirement and spoils as many students as he can.
I don't think that the recruitment procedure will improve in the upcoming days, sadly it will remain the same.....
This makes me nervous because am the first generation learner from my area who got PhD and NET in Geography.I don't want to give money for joining a job and I don't have lakhs of money .I am spending much money for applications and waiting for the interview. Tell me how can we reduce or make zero corruption in academic appointments
I have come across this and it's really frustrating. Reason for not selecting it was very unacademic ... Reason: He is very young so he can try next time.
