Never seen it before, not a recognized UTI pathogen. More likely associated with an abscess/ SSTI of the genitourinary system. Would suggest investigate for underlying soft tissue infection, renal abscess etc.
Hi all. As a follow up of the above patient----repeat urine analysis was normal . Whole morning urine sample of the patient was subjected to Microscopy for Nocaria / AFB that was negative. Culture in MP bottle was negative after 6 weeks of incubation suggesting that the previous isolation of Nocardia was because of contamination during collection.
